Production System Classification

As the production model of the smart composter we chose mass production as we will produce a large amount of a single article in a highly standardized and repetitive manner.

That said, we decided that the deployment that most benefits BioGround is the Flow Shop. It is characterized by the great automation of the productive processes and the low degree of formation of the operators.

The production of finished product inventory (predictable demand) is the one that meets our needs.

We can classify the composter as a discrete product because its production is divided into parts and demountable products.

When it comes to material handling and distribution we decided to go for a continuous and sequential flow.
